The town council has ordered a
half dozen gasoline lamps for Main
Street. They will be a decided improvement,
over the kerosene lamps.
At a meeting of the county board
of commissioners on last Monday a
charter was granted to Mr. Charles
Dusonbury for the ferry at Port
Uarrelson.
A petition will be presented to our
delegation in the Legislature asking
that they have a voting precinct established
at VVampee in Little River

At the Thanksgiving service-at
the Haptist church last Thursday
evening a collection was taken for
the orphanage. Two little orphan
children of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Charley Collins, who both died a few
months ago of typhoid fever were
exhibited in the church and contributions
asked in the way of clothing
and money with which to send t hem
to the orphanage. The response
was liberal.
