Thompson and return ed to Little River to-day. The tent meetings were continued during last week and arc still going with a pretty full attendance night and day. The protracted meeting at the Baptist church was discontinued on last Sunday night. A pleasure party went down to Georgetown on the Altaniont last Thursday, and returned Thursday night. Something got wrong with the propeller near Bucksport and caused a delay of several hours. The growing business of Spivcy Mercantile Co. has justified them in increasing their store room, and they are now occupying both the stores in the Spivey Building. The store immediately on the corner is the dry goods and notions department, while the other is used for groceries, furniture and hardware. There will be an excursion today for white people over the (Son way ?fe Seashore Railroad to Myrtle Beach. The train makes two trips, one at 0 o'clock, one at 1:80 o'clock in the afternoon Those who wish to attend thanksgiving services at the churches in town may do so and go down on the 1 o'clock train It is a splended trip for Thanksgiving day and the fare is only 50 cents for adults. Our readers will find the adver tisement of a new business in this issue. Mr. W. J. Singleton who already has a large and growing business at Entcrnrise on the Waoeamaw, has opened another store at the Marlow stand where a business was formerly run by Mr. C. C. Marlow. The people of Horry county are enjoying prosperity such as they have not seen in many years, and beyond this there are hundreds of blessings for which we should feel like offering our heartfelt thanks to Him who is the gi /or of every good thing. We wish the star the best of success under its new owner. Until a few days ago, one could see at the drug store of Dr. Iv Norton. a strangely inhabited sample of artesian water. It contained six or eight ugly looking worms about an inch long The water was brought by Mrs. Whltlock from an artesian well out at llomewood Colony and she stated that the worms were discovered ill the water as it poured from the spout. The wel' is as deep as the ordinary artesian well and we would bo plad for some one to explain how there ean be any an nimal life of the si/e of these warms so deep down from the surface. J. It is remarkable Mint he neither fainted nor gave way from weakness, but i mme l iately walked away to the artesian well and held the remaining part of his arm under the spout.
