Think one package of it worth a do/.- i en of /.cilia's. For sale I?y Dr. IC. Norton, i On Advertising. When the railroad advertising] ! agent s met in Chicago t he ot her da v I ! and deliberate Iv declared as the re suit of their exp< rience that the newspaper was the best mcoium for] advertising they simply voiced the opinion of thou ands of busines men ail over the world. And yet not a day pass s t'n.it some new form of publicity is not brought to the attention of the pub lie. Some of these have merit and I accomplish their purpose, hut they are few in number and of only tempt nary worth. Nine tent, lis of these advertising eehenies are absolutely worthless, and the only persons who! got a dollar out of them are the originators who are smart enough to; catch customers. The reasons why the newspapers; are the best mediums for reaching the people and securing business is i that they come in closer touch with the public than any other kind of ; publications. When a in.m takes up his favorite j paper to find out what is eoine on j in the groat busy world about him, j he cannot avoid seeing the advertisements contained in it. Whether he needs any of the articles advertised or not lie is impressed by the announcements and remembers them. It is the persistency, if we may so call it, of the newspaper that gives it i value. It,very day it is r.ew and must j be read, and every day the advertiser is making a direct appeal to the reader for his patrciiage. It is the constant dropping of water that wears away the hardest stone. A not her lot of Men's Sample Hats. Another big lot manufacturers Sample Shoes. After an absence of thirty days, 1 roaehed home on Thursday evening 28th of September. Thelirst one to meet and kiss me was our "baby girl" Sallie. a week later her spirit had taken its flight. She was not well when I arrived. I staid with her until Sunday evenine when beli wine she was better. I loft home to meet enmii/omonts 1 had for tlu? next. week. Tuesday I was recalled to the bedside of our "baby oirl.'' She was very sick, but Clod had been so oood to m 1 could not realize she must ^o. A hemorrhage had so weakened her that she could not recover. At midnight Thursday nij/ht slie received the !tial summons. I took her in my arms, caressed her, called her by name, asked <5od to help me and spare my child, made every effort to revive her, but it could not be, and she died. Who but he who has experienced it can realize the shock, the a?rony we endured when we viewed the body of our dead child to those feelings no words can jfive ex pression. < 1 <m 1 let her stay with us for a season, just lon;renough for the little tendril to entwine itself about our hearts and gladden us with her presence, her smile, her wise sayings and thoughtful questions, then Clod took her, and the pain and ajfony her removal caused lie alone knows. She leaves a christian mother, four sisters and t wo brothers. We wish to see and be with her a^nin; we orieve but not as those who have no fnt ure hope and believe not in the resureetion. We too have now a treasurein Heaven, little baby hands beckoning us onward and upward, and where our treasure is, there also our hearts are. Though she cannot return to us, we may to her.
