Mrs. Charlotte Daggett, wife of Capt. hen. T. Daggett and daughter of Mr. li. h. Verccn, near Nixonvillo, this county, died in (Georgetown last Thursday night the 27th ult. The remains were brought here Friday afternoon on the tug Fearless accompanied by Capt. Thos. S. Daggett and sister Miss Minnie, llev. J. K. Dunlop, pastor of the I'resbyterian church in (Georgetown, l and his daughters Misses Maud and Marie. The pall bearers were Messrs Henry Young, A Mel'. Hamby,Col. J. ftparkman, J. H. Johnson, Dr. Frank Carroway and A. II. \\rc?o<l ward all of (Georgetown. | The deceased left here some two weeks previous in a convalescent state, bavin# been taken sick while on a visit, and her friends were pained at the telegram Friday morn in# announcing her death. The body was taken to the Presbyterian church where appropriate funeral services were conducted. Rev. J.W. Hiking, of the, Methodist church here, conducting the opening service by reading selections of scripture unci prayer. The Rev. Mr. Dunlop paid a tender tribute to the life of the deceased having known her intimately for several months. Rev. Mr. Elkins read the service at the grave when the remains were deposited in the ground, Rev. Mr. Smith, of the Presbyterian church making the closing piayer.
