It is the bounden duty of every good citizen to interest himself in the municipal alTairsof his community and we urge upon every voter in town the importance of registering before the IStli inst., when the books will close. Furthermore, tin election for Mayor and aldermen is to be held on the 25th inst., and it is understood that the present Mayor, and a part, if not till, of the council, will decline a second term; so it it is in tlie interest of every citizen to I act in matters of such great importance and we would suggest a meeting of the citizens of Conway to be held on someday or night next week in order to decide upon the best plan to pursue. Don't leave the matter to others and say that you are willing to abide their action, but attend the meeting, or don't kick afterwards. Why not use the columns of the county paper in order to properly keep yourselves and what you have for sale before the people. If you think that the paper is scarcely read you make a mistake Our people are on the up grade and we should let. no opportunity be lost in advertising ourselves, .lust as soon as the world caught sight of us and our possibilities, it took hold of us and with a hearty grasp we should tighten the grip and i d it. Talk up every improvement. encourage every new industry that suggests itself. Only a few months ago a new brick machine was started up here, and now we see two large buildings going up and of home made brick. Every improvement helps and encourages that nearest it and to sit idly by and pine at some one else's success is a pitiable condition, when we might in some way help turn the wheel. A startling incident, of which Mr. John Oliver of Philadelphia, was the subject., is narrated by him as follows: "1 was in a most dreadful condition.'
