here at. the tobacco sales the latter
part of this month and we shall ex
poet subscribers who are owing the
paper to call and settle. Any subscribers
who are due over a year and
who fail to settle by that time, will
not receive the paper afterwards.
We are compelled to adopt this
course, not through choice, but of
necessity. The paper will make its
weekly visits to patrons who pay
and we will do the best we can for
them, but the usefulness of the paperis
seriously crippled by those in
arrears. It really seems that this
is reasonable and ought to be sufficient.
We have obligations to meet,
that must be met. Will you do your
duty towards the paper, is all we
ask?

It is stated that there are enough
applications for office from the different
parts of this government to raise
the number sufficient for the Philippine
army. Let all who are offering
their services as commissioned officers,

Such a multitude of private soldiers
could be organized into companies
and regiments and elect, their own
officers. This would relieve the appointing
power of great embarrassment
and give these patriots a
