that medic.d skil! and huniafi affeo

law "that man must died' We expect
to publish an obituary notice of the
deceased, and only write theet line

open t<> charity closed only in death,
lie had been tireless in watching by
the bedside of his wife, about whom
the gravest fears were felt, but who
had become convalescent before 1
was stricken down. In bis la
hours he was very anxious to communicate
with his fatnil), but hi
articulation was beyond under itatu

had something to tell that would
have been a priceless legacy to his
family and friends, his conversation
with many of his friends pre

belief. His was the most un elfish
nature that we have (ver known.
Without ostentation, ho wits ev<

the poor, will stand as an impcrish

While the bed) wan i posed to view

took a last look at their beuefuo

ing circumstance to seethe long line
of colored people viewing the re*

covered with flowers, and stror.gmon,
mainly his employees, could not restrain
their tears. The service nt
the grave was conducted by the
Knights of Honor, of which he was
a member, assisted by Dr. W. S.
Stokes, of the Methodist church. It
was tho largest funeral we* romem

people from the country being present.
