The Union tint, with It hoboth
Baptist church Jan. 20th. On account
of inclement weather the in
troductory sermon was dispensed with
and the order of business called. A
majority of the churches not being
present, the rules as to a quorum
were suspended. The Moderator op<
ned the Union with the usual re I i - |
gious service after which former min- i
utes were read and approved. Let-1
ttrs from the several churches were
called for and delegates enrolled.
On motion an invitation was extended
to churches wishing to unit; with
this Union, also to corresponding
messengers, visiting ministers and
brethren from sister Unions. On
motion the Committee previously
appointed to revise our Constitution
and By-laws be continued until our
next meeting, they not being ready
to report at this session. On mo
tion the several Committees were
appointed. On motion we adjourn
until tomorrow at 0 a m. L'rayer

an article which he said appeared in
the Stuff January the 23rd. Mr.
McCuskill says that the article was
from Mr. 1). A. Spivoy and and reflected
very uncomplimentary upon
him as postmaster at Conway. Mr.
McC. then goes for Mr. Spivey in a
vigorous manner, but does not quote
his article and your paper did not
publish it. Therefore the country
people, who do not take the daily papers
and who have not seen Mr. Spivey's
article, ask, thut ii justice to
both gentleman, yon give in the next
issue of your paper, the Spivey ar
tiele as it appeared in the S/rrte newspaper,
then we can all judgv more
intelligently about the matter.
