\V. 1<J. llardwick of Conway, S. (J.,
entered into the higher rest of the
people of t?od April 20th, 1801, inj
the 30th year of her age.
Ilc-r early training in the way of
the Lord, and the healthful influences
of a Christian homo, shielded her |
in a great measure from the tcmpta- ;
tions incident to youth, and she grew |
up to bean obedient child, an attentive
Sunday School scholar, and a
cheerful helper in the home. At a
gracious revival enjoyed by the
Methodist Churcn in Conway in the |
year 1888 Mm sought and obtained
the forgiveness of sins, and united
with the Church, and from that time
till the day of her death she was a
consistent follower of the Lord Je.ms.
She was blessed with a Christian hushtl

to be his helper cot only in the things j
of this world but also in the service '
of God. Her neighbors love to speak ;
of the kindness of her disposition, (
her evident delight in the service of *
God, and her readiness for every
good work. But in the midst of life ^
and usefulness the Master saw best 1
to call her away. uIIer sun is gone
down while it was yet day" but her
work was done. She bad borne her \
witness for Jesus, bad bound the I
hearts of loved ones to her, and now I
she has gone before to the beautiful j
heavenly home. She born the severe n
sufferings of her last illness without J
a inuriuor, and often tried to cheer i
and encourage the anxious ones (
around her. Whatever desire she had
to live was for the sake of others,
but for her, death'had no terrors. 11 c r
death is the first breach in her
father's family since the children j
have been grown, and her husband |
is left entirely alone, their children
all having died iu infancy. It is hot
natural that their tears should flow
for her loss, but the bereaved ones
have the satisfaction of knowing that
they have many to sympathize with
them, and that many prayers will be
offered in their behalf. May the loving
Father above grant them His <
own abundant consolation!
