Oh.utfen & Co., Charleston, camo in last Friday, spent Saturday and Sunday with us, returning Monday via Georgetown. Mr. Langford is very popular here and generally finds bu siness, George Thompson, colored of, Charleston, S. C., formerly of this countv and son of the late Gus Thompson, died in Charleston last week. His remains arrived here on Saturday's train, and were taken to the colored Methodist Church for burial. TliH County Hoard of Examiners nut in the Court House last Friday and Saturday to examine applicants for School Certificates. There were forty-three in attendance. Several days will elapse before these examinations will ho acted on, as soon as they are wo will give the result. Mr. Smith, of Smith & Burr, manufacturers of all kinds of lumber, at Howard, was in town Thursday last, the guest of Mr. 1). T. MoXeill. Messrs. Smith & Burr are wide-awake young men, and have a fine mill, and offer great inducements to the public. Mr. George Officer and family, of lint), N.
