After being missed for several days]
be was found dead under the house.
Quite likely he was poisoned.
We suppose that the absence of]
of County news in this weeks issue, j
is to be attributed to so many people
being in town last week. They j
thought, perhaps, that ther?? was no
use in writing.
Tho frost and unprecedented cold
weather of last week wrought terrible
havoc fro n Norfolk, Va., as far
South as tho North Florida line, dostroking
millions of dollars worth of
young vegetables. Our people are
recuperative, and will take hold anew,

An engineer corps consisting of
Messes. Frank A. Burroughs and
Van Norton accompanied by a sufli-j
cient working force, started M>today j
to run out a new road from Conway'
to a near point on the beach. The
project is to have a nice drive way
from here to the strand at some |
curly day. This is the fore runner :>f
a narrow gunge rail road to the ocean j
and the erection of suitable hotel accomodations
there. A little public
spirit manifested in this matter, now
'while the iron is hot" will prove of;
great benefit to our town.
Messes. C. J. Prince, 0. C. Butler
and .1. 1). Oliver, composing the
* County Board of Control, met on
Tuesday at the office of the County
Commissioners.
They passed a resolution to the
effect that they will establish only
one Dispensary in Horry County, and
will take no steps to open at all until
some petition or application is nude j
to them therefor. Two or three ap-j
plications for Dispenser were filed,;
out not considered.
They expect to meet aga n on
May 7th, Saleday, and will likely j
decide at that time when they vriil
establish a Dispensary.

removed and renewed, when worn,
without the use of tool--, and which
forms practically a part of the rib (
