That wo use all conservative means to get relief before going into I measures about whoso benefits there ! is such grave doubts. 1. Samuki. 11 ICK.MA N. Clir'n Coin. Lor is, S. C. Washington Let tor. (Kircukir ('orivspondont.) The last net of the Senatorial farco is bill? d f<?r this wook. When tho session of the Semito which opens Wednesday next shall close the curtain will he run-down <>n the long drawn ont silver contest. Only ono thing seems absolutely clear and certain at this writing, and I hat is that the Vouchees bill will not he voted upon. That f;<ct is probably as clear to Senator Wcorhces in it is to most other people, but the pros sure from the White House was so strong for the holding of continuous | session that he announced it for next Wednesday and notified all absent repeal Senators to bo on hand. The contest cannot possibly be a lone one as Senator Vouchees will have to keep forty one men on the lloor continually while the silver nun will only need two. The general belief is that the session will soon die for lack of a quorum. What will follow is largely a matter of conjecture. It is said by those who oppose any sort of a silvti concession and demand unconditional repeal or nothing thai President Cleveland would much prefer seeing the Senate adjourn, if it cannot pass the Yonrhoos liill ttmn t<? i; adopt a compromise. If tlie proposition for adjournment is made by Senator Yoorheos tl.w chances are that it will 1*0 through with ii whoop, as the silver Senators would doubtless vote for it, believing that the longer the matter cm be postponed the stronger their side of the con trovorsy will grow with the people. Strange as it may appear, it is upon precisely the same ground that the President favors adjournment if the repeal bill cannot be passed; He believes that public opinion will have grown so strong by the time for the meeting of the regular session that the Senate will then pass the bill. Ibit there is another and a very strong element t*> bo considered, em bracing, perhaps, a majority of the Senate, which wants some sort of a ^ point r tins actual i .
