The clothing of a colored child in
town caught fire from burning
trash near the yard last Thursday
and before the flames could be extinguished,
the child was so badly
burned that it died that night.
There are complications in several
of the North-western States growing
out of the alliance between Populist
and Democrat in the late election.
These alliances among diverse political
opinions for election purposes do
not always pan out satisfactorily to
either party.

skating on Kingston Lake this week,

James Hratcher died last Sunday
morning of pectoral dropsy. lie has
