i. Joe Vaught died, last Monday.
| Antos Green died tlite Monday previous.
Both were taken sick about
the same time and about the same
v way. The impression among the
1 colored people is firmly fixed that
k they were poisoned, but if so, they
% were wholly responsible themselvesI*
The doctors say all the symptoms
I can be explained on other grounds
B than the supposition of poisoning.
A Some say they filched a watermelon

ligation renders this Statement vague
m. and uncertain. Our conclusion is
Hfehat the first died in collapse of
^^nholera morbus and the other of

same causes. The disease was

The following letter has been re- ^
ceived by the County School Commissioner
from a veritable school
teacher. The internal evidence is
conclusive in his case that he could
novel teach the young idea how to F
hit the mark in orthography. To 1spell
properly is no credit but improper
spelling is a digraco in this
enlightened ago of newspapers, c
schools and colleges. The Commissioner
very properly replied that his f(
chirography and orthography were 8'
sufficient to exclude him from tench- h
ing in the public schools of this ^
county. It is manifest tlmt the e;
young man is ambitious, and if he 11
will turn his ambition to preparing r<
himself for the discharge of the du- c'
ties of the position sought lie may 11

Is it not natural to expect the ofTiers
of the Florence Hank, (who all
