l! A Delightful Trip.
According to previous notice the
Stoaiuer Maggie left Conway for
(irahnuivillo on Saturday evening at
4 o'clock, to bring down a party of
moonlight excursionists. Several
* young, ladies and gentlemen, (we
among thorn,) boarded the steamer
for Gralumvillc in order to enjoy a
* trip back home by the light of the
~ moon. The evening was close and
^ lied until we got under way when a
' delightful and bracing breeze sprung
up to the delight of all. Nothing of
x moment occurred on the trip up, wc
i< quietly enjoyed oursclf admiring the
s scenery, &c., along the river.
u We arrived at Graluim villa at (5
o'clock and were met bv a goodly
number of belles ami beaux, and old1
er persons, all intent on enjoying a
' run to Conway and back toCrahamville
by moonlight. Here we met
and was introduced to Mr. .1. I.
Ward, one of the managers of the
v excursion?we found him to be agon.
ial and affable gentleman?we make
. our bow to him for courtesies offered.
1 Wo remained about one hour at
, (irahamville. While waiting there
we received an invitation to take supper
with ('apt. Zach Dusenbury, of
(< the Maggie, and on being ushered
into the dining apartment we found
the Cupiain, Mr. Ike Williams, and
one of Conwav's fairest daughters,
e . J
We all partook of ;i sumptuous meal
and felt much revived and ready for
i our t rip homeward.
t At 7 o'clock, just as t he moon was
s peeping over the hills we left for
i Conwa\ with a large crowd aboard.
The boat touched at several landings
- along the route taking on others.
- During the trip down when the moot)
t was shining its prettiest music front
s a violin Moated out on the breeze,
some one gave tlie order, "(Jet your
s partners for a dance,'' and in loss
, time than it takes to write it the
fesdve crowd were tripping the light

sic, and as we floated down the grand

old Waccatnaw listening to the departing
sounds of mirth and gaiety
p echoing through wood and dell, it
I forcibly brought to fond memory
"the girl we left behind us."
We arrived at Conway at 1)4 o'clock
1 p. m. and the crowd landed ami took
1 in the sights of our town. After re
maiuing a shod, time they took
[1 their departure homeward with the
1 best wishes of every one.
1 The crowd was orderly and every
1 one seemed to enjoy the occasion.
> Milk shakes and lemonade were an
s enjoyable feature of the trip. (!.
