No river in the State is susceptible
of larger and more permanent
improvements. The Jdevelopment
of the Waccamaw opens navigation
to and taps a productive section of
this county, and, also, of I'runswick
and Columbus counties, N. (J. We
know of no oovermneiit sehemo
internal improvements that promises
greater results from the amount invested.
The natural course of commerce
is to follow t he line of drainlitre,
and we hope t'ol. Dargau will
he able to secure a handsome appropriation
for the Waccumaw at the
approaching session of (_'on?rrcss, so
that the work can he speedily completed.
