Cuban Reciprocity.
The following from the United
States Export association is a sen
sible view of our duty to Cuba,
considered in relation to that
j land itself and to the citizens of
the United States:
No matter what action is taken
on other reciprocity treaties, that
with Cuba should be promptly
mule and.*ra/itied, for the in
dustrial and political situation
there is acute. Our American
producers and consumers, as a
whole, are also interested in this
matter, for a proper reciprocity
treaty with Cuba will give us that
important market, which is now
largely supplied by other countries,
a’id give our industries cheaper
raw material in raw sugar, tobacco,
iron ore and woods and our fruit
growers, preservers and consumers
rn« aper retined sugar. Our beet and
cane sugar interests will oppose it,
but the interests of ninety-nine out

will be benefited, and ibis should
lie considered, even if the present
exorbitant profits of the one per
cent of our population should be
somewhat reduced. At present they
enjoy a protection of atxiut 100 per
ivnl as against about 60 per cent
for all other American industries.

Prince Henry’* Vialt.
Prince Henry, brother of Emper
or Wiilisn of tiermany, will strive
tu New York about the *20lh of
February. On the find he will be
present at tbe christening of the
emperor's new yacht in New York
harbor, where tbe daughter of tbe
preeident of tbe United Slates will
break the bottle of champagne over
the prow.
Tbe goverment will make it very
pleasant for the prince during bis
sojourn in this country, congrece
having appropriated HO,000 for the
expense of suitable entertainment
fur him. He will travel several
days in the country, going as far
west as Chicago and as far south as
Chattanooga. Atlanta is making
desperate efforts to arrange that the
prince's itinerary shall take in that
hustling southern city, and the
exposition people will try hard to
get him to Charleston, but it is not
probable that he will visit either of
those cities. The itinerary of the
prince, as arranged by Charles E.
Harmon, general passanger agent
ofthe Western and Atlantic rail
road is announced as follows:
“The prince and his party will
leave Cincinnati Saturday night,
March 1st, over the Queen and
Crescent, arriving at Chattanooga
at G o’clock Sunday morning,
March 2nd. The morning will be
spent in a visit ta Cbickamauga
park ahd in the afternoon the party
v?ill leave over the N. C. and St. L.
for Nashville, en route to Louis
ville.”

The diseases most feared are those which are
Inherited—handed down from generation to gen
eration, and family to family. By far the most
