George H. Cauble, infant son
of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cauble of
Faith, N. C., was born October 17,,
1900, and departed this life Janu
ary 17, 1902, aged 1 year and 3
months. He was a child of the
covenant, having been given to the
Lord in holy baptism. Four times
has the angel visited this home and
taken a flower away. While the
parents are grief stricken they are
consoled in knowing that “He do-
eth all things well..” V. Y. B.
Sarah A. Cauble departed this
January 12, 1902. f She was born
March 30, 1834, making her age
67 years,* (f months and 112 .days.
On the Sunday of her death she
attended Idiviue services as usual,
apparently as well as ever, but the
summons came suddenly to qnit
terrestrial tb'ngs to enter upon
celestial realities. She was more
or less present npon all the ser
vices of her church and apparently
devoted to the same. May we think
of her as living forevermore. For
His chosen cannot die Peace to
the blessed dead that die in the
Lord. H. A Trexler.
Died in Savannah, Ga , January
7, lb02, Magdalena Anna, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. U A Grout,
at the age of 6 years, 5 mouths an<l
6 days. Thus a lovely life bud of
rare promiae was suddenly plouked
by the invisible baud of the heart-
. less destrojer, Death, and removed
from this earth pardeo to live aod
blossom forever in the heavenly
Paradise. Be comforted of God,
loud parents, for the child Is not
dead; she has only fallen asleep
in Ji-sns and will awake on the
resurrection morn to enjay perfect
bliss in that borne where no sorrow
shall ever enter. M. J E.
Mrs Dtoiel Poillippi, nee Mollie
Cormany. died January 18, 1902,
lacking only ten days of beiug 73
years old. She was married to
Mr. Phillippi on August 20, 1850
The result of this union was three
children, only one of whom is liv-

Church at eighteen years, oniiing
with St P/iiil’scoogreg-ttion, Wythe
county, Va She lived a consistent
member uatil death came, aud in
that hour she was not alarmed,
but having faith in the Master, and
looking for deliverance from the
trials of earth, exclaimed, “Come
on, death!'* He fnneral services
were conducted in Hawkins' Chapel
by Pastor Greiner in the absence
of her pastor. Her remains were
then take to St Paul’s church aud
the burial service conducted by her
pastor. D S F.
It is with sadness that we chron
icle the sudden death of little
Harrv, the 9 year-old son of Mr.
and Mrs J. A. Grovenstein of Oli
ver, Ga To the hnman mind the
ways of Providence sometimes seem
strange. “Death loves a shining
mark,” and this abrupt breach in
the home i« wrapped in mystery
until viewed in the light of divine
revelation What a comfort to
know that he loved the thiogs that
lead to a brighter and better life.
Never was he too bnsy to listen to
the reading of the Bible, for God's
word gave him special delight.
The thought which should console
the Borrowing parents is that they
have given to God that which was
His. Little Harry has only been
translated from a transient home
on earth to his eternal home above.
; “Soffer the little children to come
unto me.” T. W. S,
Little Bessie Lee, Infant daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall
Franklin, died Ursniteville, 8.
