Sights of Children.
The first right of every child ia to
be well born ; and by this 1 mean
that it has a right to the beet condi
tions, physical, mental, and moral
that it is in the power of the parents
to secure. Without this the child is
defrauded of its righto at the out
set, and his life can hardly fail of
being a pitiful protest against broken
laws. Centuries or preparation flt
ted the earth for man’s occupancy,
hiutiug thus the grandeur of bis daa
tiny, and suggesting that, in at
eveut of each magnitude as the in
carnatiug of a soul, provision shun Id
be exercised, and all the best coudi-
tions secured in ahl of a harmonious
and happy result. Good health,
good habits, sound mentality, and
reverend love should form the basis
of every uew Hfe that is invoked.
The mother who gives herself up to
morbid fancies, who considers her
health an excuse for petulance and
nou exercise of self-control, proves
herself uuworthy of the holy office
of mother, and ought not to be sur
prised if she reap at a later day the
htttiar harvest of her unwise sow
ing.
Second in nnj>ortaocc to uone, as
a means of securing the happinea*
and best good of childhood and
youth, is the right to bo taught obw

we know is inevitable, and to the

be tempted to resistance by lows
that are imperfectly enforced, nor

discussion by having a long list of
reasons given for every requirement.
