A month of leionre and healthful real;

October; the brown, the crimp, the bleat.
My life low little enou«h of hlins :
I drag the days of the odd eleven.
Counting the time that shall kail to this,
The month that opens the hunter's hrav’n
And oh ! for the morning* ertop and white.
With the sweep of the hounds upon the

Tlie bark-roofed cabin, the tittup-Ar*'*

The break of the deer ami the ride’s

Do you call this trilling f I t«U yon,

And men grow withered before their

With the eunw pa veil ia on the lanes

And lungs are choked, and ahonklers are

And Death stalks in on the struggling

“Certainly 1 will, with pleasure, aa

Naanan was a groat captain in the

Had a splendid house, and was chief
of the king’s ofleers, and had every
thing that he wished; but he bad
a loathesome disease called leprosy.
He was in danger of dying a terrible
death by this dreaded disease. It
neeins that in one of the war* mode
upon Israel by the Syriann, they had
taken some captive children home
with them as slaves, and Madman's
wife had one of the girls os » maid to
wait upon her. When she saw bow
distreesed Naaaiau and hm friends
were, at his having this terrible af
fliction w)gm him, she said, ‘Would
to God that the prophet in Samaria
could see my lord, for be could care
him.’ ‘What did you say f aaid her
mistress. The little girl told her
then that in Samaria there lived
Etiaha, the wonder! uI prophet I told

The king of Syria woe willing, for be
