A few mouths ago the door chil

tle boy, whose name wee Niekie
King, was written for them to rend.
Again bare the children of the in
fant department of the Sabbath
school in Savannah followed another
sweet child to the beautiful cemetery
and laid him tp rest in the cold earth t
Daniel P. Ping, a couniu of Niekie**,
died Jane 19th. He wag just three
years old last week, and was a bright,
beautiful boy, With golden curly hair,
and large blue eyes. He had attend
ed the infant school for one short
year, and he dearly loved to have
the Sabbath come. Daring this year
he also bad a ‘mito box,’ aa all the
other children bad, to obtain money
to help baild a Sabbath school room.
I told you how Niekie saved for his
box every cent that be obtained, for
the same purpose. Daniel, his tittle
cousin, was just as eager to pot all
the pennies that were given to him
into bis box, and much as he loved
candy, when a ftve cent piece was
given to him for sweetmeats, he
woald quickly ran and climb ap to
bis box and drop It in with an air of
great delight Hia kind friends need
to encourage this disposition of his
to aid the school that be loved, and
he ■was always on hand when the
three months came round, with hia
box, to have the contribution count
ed. Great hopes were indulged by
the friends of these two eoostas, that
when they should grow to ho men,
the Latheran jehureh in Savannah
would have two more efficient help
ers and workers for the Lord. Jeeaa
Christ has disappointed our earthly
hopes, and the two cousins are re
united in beaveu and we are bereft!
This dear boy had a sweet voice to
sing, and he readily learned the
songs of Zion. Aa soon sa he con Id
speak he learned to aiag. The Sab
bath school anniversary took place
in March last, and the children sang
a piece called “Something in heaven
for children to do.” He wan greatly
pleased with it, and sang often, in
his sweet way, the refrain, “Thersl
be something for children to do.* In
his last sickness be often requested
his aunt Mary to sing it with him.
