A Pastor’s Joy and Crown.—

a South Carolina brother, from which
we copy a few lines : “Another mem

Oh, does it not make a poor pastor
feel solemn to stand at the bedside

did, not less, nor more, than fifteen

Vacant Churches.—A writer in
the Presbyterian says:
“There is meanwhile in many of
these vacant churches an evil, conse
quent npon fheir being vacant, that
should be removed, and that is not
beyond the control of the cbnrt h**s
themselves. Those cbnvrhes that
are without i»astors for the most
part give little or nothing to support
the benevolent operations of the
chnrch. Borne which though neither
large nor strong, hare nevertheless
been regular and liberal in their eon
tribetkms, when they have been
blessed with tye services of a pastor,
cease to give as soon os the pulpie
becomes vacant.
