THE DEDICATION HEBMO.N ,

by Rev. L. Muller, who ascended
the pulpit, from which be could be

the temple, due to his fine enuncia
tion and the scientific acoustical or-
rungementa of the Interior.

cluded, the Rev. Dr. Bachman waa

increase until the old Church became
too small to accommodate the now
large and fiohriahing congregation.

accordingly on the 26th of Decem-
l»er, 1867,* the corner stone of the
new Chnrch waa laid, and the work

in the ceremonies, which we are
about to describe.

THE KEY OF THE BUILDING.
Soon the Imdy and galleries of St.
Matthew’* were filled with members
of the congregation, and of various
German societies, who had been in
vited to |>artiripate. After the ring
ing of an appropriate hymn by tbe
choir, the Pastor of the Chnrrh, in
company with the Building commit
tee, advanced in front of the altar,
where they were met by John If.
Devereux, Kaq., who presented tbe
key of the New Church.
