christiauity and piety of ail who
exhibit, in their lives, the image of
our blessed Master; but while we
shall readily manifest our Christian
affection for such, we w!!l not be so
inconsistent as to concede that the
organisations to which they belong
are true churches. A Christian may
be deceived, and many of them doubt
less are. Many firmly believe that
the societies founded by Calvin,
Lutlier, Wesley, and Campbell, are
churches of Christ.

Points.” The delegate from Michi

the Council. Prof. Fritachel, of
Iowa, had only two requests to
make—first, that the General Coun
cil would not refuse to continue to
keep these important matters—‘‘the
four points”—in view; and second,
that it would not lose patiesec with
those frieuds of the Conncil who are
not yet exactly at one with it on
some of these points.

inconsistent with the position of th*
