Changed Addresses.—We should

the run of them, so many pull up

of 132 “changed addresses'* since

six names “erased,* Vrhich Is s very
charitable word in this connection,
although to the credit ‘ of more than
half of them, it should be said, their
names were not “erased* for immor
ality.
A Convert.—The Duchess 8t*in-
ach, of Steiennark, has abandoned
the Church of Rome and become
Lutheran. She has published the
following declaration : “That I may
remain faithful to the doctrine of
Jesus, in which I have been born
and raised, my conscience compels
me, although in my 09th year, to
leave the Roman Cathode and join
the Evangelical Protestant Church.
Since the pnlpits of the Catholic
Church do not, as formerly, proclaim
exclusively the teord of God, bat are
employed in holding forth political
subjects ami exciting hatred against
people of other faith, who are also
our fellow beings, I can 00 longer
regard the Catholic Church as the
true, only saving church, founded
by my Saviour Jesus, who has
taught us lovo and forgiveness.
Further, ss I can only conceive the
most high, invisible God as the infal
lible God, and cling to the first com

odist General Conference, Pittsburgh,

ded vote to refuse to authorise the
orUimition of females to tbe ministry.

publishing bouse from Springfield,
Ohio, to Pittsburgh next September.
