occupancy, and we sincerely hope
that the committee may succeed in
finding a suitable man to place nt
the bend of an enterprise which
promises so much good to the church.
The (Synod does not propose assum
ing any pecuniary responsibility, but
will heartily endorse it, and snp|>ort
it otherwise. It 1r desired that the
school shall he entirely an indivhhml
enterprise. Halls nre offered us to
I'egin the school. Do you know any
one, clerical or lay, who would like
to undertake an enterprise of this
kindt If* no, direct him to tho
attention of Rev, A. Pliillippi, of
Wythcvillc, Vrt., who is a member
of the committee on this school
enterprise. A more flattering pros
pect for the establishment of a Fe
male school in this section of country
may never be presented to us. How
important, therefore, that some one,
suited to this work, take hold of it
at once, and secure it to the Luther
an Chnrch before the opportunity is
past, and some other denomination
derive all the benefit that might ac
crue to our Synod.
We are happy to see that yon are
being “flooded” with communications.
Let the brethren continue in this
work, and those wlio never write,
repent of this sin, and do their duty
in the future. By the way, what
has become ot “Linden* ? We have
missed him for some time from the
list of your contributors. “Lutheran
us” writes some “mighty queer” things
sometimes, but non© the less true.
“X” handles his subjects without
gloves—-wonder if he is not afraid
of the Synod that thinks the work
of General Synod has been accom
plishes! ? “Sam Small” is interesting
and instructive. But we can not run
through the list—only let all continue
