morning at the specified liour, the
Assembly met aud was opened with
prayer by the Moderator. Tlie Com

two hundred commissioners. This
number is about equally divided be
tween Ministers and Killers.
Three names were placed in nom
ination for ’Moderator: Her. T. S.
Kendall, of Oregon, llev. James
Urown, !>,!>., of Keokuk, and Hrv.

At the tinie appointed, when all
things were ready, the Jloilcrator
wa* conducted (the other members
following in order) to the tables,
where all were accommodated with
teats. Then the Moderator, in por-

asked the Divine blessing. At tbe

retained their seats until thanks were
roomed to the Father of utereies;
then all iu an orderly manner retired

not only refreslted tlie body with a
daily supply of suitable food, hut they
gave the warm and generous heart a
