TThlcaux mmbnied with
an instrumental entertainmenWof a high
order^vH exeeil.nce. The first tableaux
pres Ated was that of “ The Village'. Rhu k-
S tVfth,” which was vividly portrayed by
Capt. Coles, Miss ! islt and Master f h.-t.t-
field The picture was one of rare beauty,
the grim and sturdy Blacksmith standing
out in bold relief, and contrasting finely
with the archness and brightness depicted
upon the countenance of the two children.
The second tableaux was that of “Rebecca
at the Well” impersonated by Mrs. N. O.
Suydam, of Brooklyn. The rare beauty nf
this lady and the peculiar shade of her
complexion rendered her acceptance of this
character an immense success. The third
tableaux presented was a very comical one,
entitled “A Scene at Sarony’s,” and was
enacted by Mrs. Spring, M . Parker and
Mr. Carter. Mr. Parker did full justice to
bis reputation as a Photographer, and pro
duced seme excellent portraits direct upon
paper. Mrs Spring's attire was a study,
and with the youth from Vermont (Mr.
Carter) wade about as interesting a pair as
any artist would care to have as models.
The fourth tableaux was that of the
“Dairy Maid,” impersonated by Mrs.
Steele and Doctor Buchler. Mrs. Steele
looked charmingly as 'lie Country Maiden,
and many of the sterner sex regretted that |
evening that they had not turned their at - I
tention to agricultural pursuits earlier in j
life. During tin intermission which now
occurred a large and grateful audience
gave vent to their appreciation at being
permitted a personal introduction to Gen.
U. S. Mowbrcy, the military veteran ami
general manager of the Sand River and B.
P. R. R. The General’s pose was admirable,
and his fine presence added many a heart
to the series of conquests of this (veil known
lady killer. The fifth tableaux was that of
the “Chinese Wash House,” given by
Messrs Goddard, Barney and Carter, and
assisted by Mr. Bennett, who succeeded in
cleaning out the whole establishment simply
on account of an oversight in the Laundry
Department. The costumes in this tab
leaux were absolutely correct and the audi
ence received the effect with great ap
plause. The fifth scene was entitled “A
Drop in the Bucket,” and it was Master
Johnson who eamc to grief as the Scullery
Maid, and who, like many an older person,
came short by trying to reach too far. The
seventh tableaux was 4 Forbittcn Fruit,”
and tbc pacts taken by Mr. Wethcrill, Mas
ter Johnson and Master Chatfield. Mr.
Wethcrill as the old Irish woman was capi-

Rcmaine Gold, so extensively worn in Paris was first discovered in 1870. by the cele
brated French clicmist Mons. D. BeLainge, who manufactured it into jewelry, and
for five years sold it to the leading jewelers of Paris for solid gold In 1875, when his
secret became known, ten of the Manufacturing jewelers established a stock company,
with a capital of 310,000.000 for the purpose of manufacturing Romaine Gold Jewelry
and Watches. With this immense capital, and the aid of improved machinery, they are
enabled to produce all the latest patterns of jewelry at less than one-tenth the cost of
Soliit Gold, and .of a quality and color which makes it impossible even for experts to de
tect it from the genuine.

city beaux of the first order. The next it;
rotation was ‘•Time” ably impersonated
by Capt Coles who was provided with the
customary scythe and hour glass. Tab
leaux No. 11 was entitled “ Going to the
Ball ’ from Cinderella. Mrs. Goddard and
Mrs. Barney as the proud sisters were the
impersonation of beauty and grace, and the
elegant toilets added much to the dTect of
this brilliant scene. The part of Cinderella
was taken by Miss Gore whose simp’e at
tire and beautiful face won all hearts by its
truthful portraiture. The finale was the
tableaux of l he “Gypsy Camp,” and em
braced in its represent at ion nearly all of
the corps dramatique. This tableaux was
a very vivid one, and the cjlored light ef
fects were very grand and reflected upon
the picture.-quo costumes and properties
used in the three scenes. Of the musical
portion of‘he piograminc we cannot speak
too highly. That portion of the labor hav
ing devolved upon Miss Bruinard. The
music was rendered with the same degree
of perfection as has been manifested in her
efforts on Ibrintr occasions. The tluie
solos by Mr. Collin were superb, and some
very fine singing was given by Mrs. Bar
ney and Mr. Gould. Altogether the all.iir
was a decided success and did nil ereuit io
