Coleton Democrat.—At the delinquent
laud sales on the first Monday in *hN nonth
only eight pieces of real estate were pur
chased by private parties, and 170 were
forfeited to the State.
Murder Nkar Augusta.—Robert Key, a
colored man, was found dead iu the woods
near Woodlawn, from a pistol ball iu bis
body. There was no direct evidence as to
who committed the deed, but, in the opinion
of the jurors, circumstances pointed very
strongly towards Thomas Hunt and Louisa
Coles, both colored, as the guilty parties.
