A Short .Do s orin lion, The monument ls decidedly one of the handsomest of the kind itt South Caro lina. It stands 32 feet high, upon a granite base 10 feet square. The pedes tal and shaft are of stately symmetry, and in purest Italian marble stands nt the top the figure of the Confederate soldier, carved tn Italy.
