Bennottsvillo Wants Clinton College. Since the action of the board of trustees ol' the Presbyterian College ol' South Carolina, in the matter of the possible removal of that institution from Clinton, several towns of the state have manifested a desire to secure it. lt is a prize worth having-as an up lifting agency in the pro gress of any town, and as a pay ing investment, worth every ef fort made to get it. Too much cannot be said in praise of the move, but it will not do to stop short of a sum sutllcient to insure it. Other towns want it too, and the best oller gets the prize. DEATHS' DOINGS On Monday last Juno 19th 1905, death entered ibo homo of Mr. and Mrs J. W. Quick of Smithville town ship and took there from the gentle spirit of their daughter VANCIE-aged about 14 years. Sho was a mving, kind and obedient child, a member of the Sunday school and loved to at tend. She was buried al the Quick graveyard on Be . ver Dam creek on Tuesday and fuueralized by liev. M (J. Quick in the presence of a large assemblage of sorrowing relatives and friends. The bereaved parents have tho sympathy o? ali who kuow them. Serious Accidents. .?One day last week Mr. Wiley M. Atkinson had the misfortune to step .m a sharp nail that pierced through his shoo aud neatly through his foot. Me is out nguiu but receiving medical attention. On Thursday last while hand ling a pitchfork, Mr. Dave Fow ler had the misfortune to lose au eye by having one of the prongs to stick in his eye. The handle in someway got loose and fell in his face. Atlast ac counts he was getting along as well as could be expected from such a painful wound. A Lodge ot 0<hl Follows. An informal meeting ot those interested in organizing a lodge ot this noble Order in Bonnotts villo was held Tuesday evening and steps taken to organize early next month. Lot tho good work go on. A Now Schedule. The through train from Fay etteville to Sumter began ser vise Monday morning. The night train instead of stopping at Maxton will now go through to Fayetteville. Travelers can go north by Cheraw or Fay etteville. Under this change Captain Campbell runs from Gibson to Fayettville, and Cap tain Lucius from Fayetteville to Sumter. Many of our farmers are plan ting largely of late corn while others are planning to sow peas for a heavy crop of forage. With a plenty of peavinc hay our farmers can put up with less corn.
