As stated last week the studies for the spring terra closed Friday. For some reason the usual commencement sermon waa dispensed with. On Monday night, the Music pupils with a la ge number of pupils from the primary department gave an ex cellent concert in the Auditorium consisting of munie, recitations and songs, which wan pleasing to the pa rents and hugely enjoyed by the little tots, who had been well drilled by that painstakings teacher Miss Richardson, On Tuesday morning the "class" exercises consisted of music and reci tatious by memberB of the Class ol 1905 -Helen Ferguson Breeden, Fannie Bristow, Clara Hudson Jordan, Katie Monroe Newton, Hortense Rogers, Iris Bolton, Myrtle Pearl Kay, James C. Breeden, Percy M. Dees. The select ions were all good, but the paper read by Miss Katie Newton on the Class of 1905, was a gem of eloquence that captured the audience and robbed the exercises of any dull monotony. On Tuesday night the chairman of the Board of Trustees made an inter esting report of the faithful work ol the past term, then came the preset) tatton of the Class Memorial aud the presentation of diplomas. The annual address was delivered by Prof. John B. Carlyle of Wake Forest College, N. C, There has been as little lost time on closing exercises this term than any in the history of the school.
