report stated last Friday that the
market was "weak under further
reports of little reduction in acre
age." Isn't this ii significant fact
worth something to tho farmers of
the South? If a mere report of a
decrease or increase in tho cotton
acreage is su lucien t to raise or low
er thc price of cotton in the New
York market can't the farmers see
what cheeta large or small crop
will have on the price of the staple?
If they go foward in the face of
such facts and plant a big crop of
cotton their policy will be suicidal.

tween Texas Wood and Sea Island
cotton seed. Ile has perfected the
cross and now has a seed that will
yield an average ol* -ll pounds of

seed cotton. He hus found none to
beat it, and besides the lint grades
high bringing 2 to 5 cents more on
the market than other cotton. I can
