Fanners Should Pull Together.
To make thc Southern Cotton
Grownr's Association a full and
complete .success, depends upon the
farmers. Spot cotton went up to
8 cents in New York this week;
that means 7 1-2 cents here. We
read in the Greenville and Spar
tanburg papers that a number of
farmers in each of these places sold
their cotton on this rise in thc price;
that those who sold had not joined
the association and therefore were
under no pledge. To make a suc
cess ol' this great movement the far
mers should stick together, violate
no pledge, but on the contrary do
all they cnn to further the plans of
thc association. You arc now more
nearly organized and a unit in feel
ing and desire than ever before and
if you break away now you can
never got together again, which will
mean disaster hy placing yourselves
iu the hands of the speculators to
stay.- Union Times, March 17.

"Wo havo given a good deal of nttten

possible, thc chief causes that have led to
such a crem increaao during the last few
years in tho number of children who aro
brought into court charged with violating
tho la??, and I havo no hesitanoy in plan*

opinions of physicians and have examined
into thc subject myself until I havo
readied tho conclusion that the iosiduous
poison of tho oigarctto is at the bottom of
much of tho trouble Cigarotto pmokors

lungs and absorbing much of the poison
in tho blood. A boy whoso bonos aro soft

tho result that ho loses his vigor, his

Such a boy being without vitality, losen
his ambition, without which a boy never

ho loses his job if he is at work, for the
reason that ho has not the strength or

of the malady soon become.-) apparent.
His moral perceptions are dulled, his
ambition is gone, and ho soon becomes a

his over increasing appetite without res

Tho Month of Mardi.
The weather for March 1905 could
not have been better. Tho farmers who
were ready, not only planted corn, but
BOHO ol' tin ni have planted small patch
