Cooper, Agent of the Coast Line, made a business trip to North Carolina Saturday and returned Tuesday Mr. F. H. Ivey of Clio Novelty Works was up Tuesdav. He is doing some line wood work in the building line. Mr. J. R. C?rabo, of Browns ville was up Thursday and called. Everybody busy in Brownsville preparing for another crop. Mr. J. W. Bundy of the upper part of Beunettsville Township was down Saturday and made us a pleasant call. Through the courtesy ot the Colombia Slate we give our read era the full reply of the former State house commission to the charge made againt them by thc Legislature. It is a little lengthy, hut will bo found interesting. A Lucky Farmer. Mr. Lewis Chavis of the old Beauty Spot section always has something to sell. He raises al most everything, except sugar and coffee In spite of the cold winter he will soon be ready lo supply salid greens, mustard, &c. Last week during the cold snap he was engaged in making sausage and packing them in lard for next summer. His hoir e supplit s never give out. With out exaggerating he is a success as a good farmer. A Military Company. Through the enterprising efforts of Mr. James F. David about 48 names have been enrolled as mem bers of a new Military Company for Beunettsville. A meeting will be called in a few days and the company fully organized by the election of officer?. There \s no good reason why Benuettsville nhould not have a first class com pany, and Mr. David deserves praise for the interest manifested in pushing tho enterprise. Sena'or J. L.
