C., on Wednesday January 28th, 1903, at high noon, at Willard, N. C., at the home of the bride's parents. DEATHS' DOINGS'. Died at her home in Clio, on Satnrday morning, January 17, 1903, after a protracted illness, Mrs. BETTIE WELCH, beloved wile of Mr. J. W. Welch-aged 50 years, 1 month aud 2 days. The funeral services were held at Hebron church on Sunday morning, conducted by Rev. A. T. Dunlap assisted by Rev. W. B. Baker. An Ugly Outrage. We mentioned last week that Mr. A. J. Stubbs of Brightsville lost his stables and a line mule by fire. It now turns out that the stables were first robbed of the fine mule and another old plug of a mule or horse put in place and then the stables fired to hide the robbery. Mr. Stubbs offers a reward of $100 for proof to convict the party who did it. - For the want of water the southbound train from Gibson on yesterday was 1 hour late. Domestic, Troubles.
