Since then our farmers have been
coming to the front w:*'i cotton, and

as high as $2 per bushel. If you want

Thai Candy Prize.
The 100 pound prize stick of candy
offered by Mr. E. L. Hamilton, the
fancy grocer, as holiday gift to his
customers, was won by Edwin Wil
liams, colored, living on Capt. P L.
Breeden's place. Check 236 was the
lucky one. Williams was proud of his
prize, but that was too mnch candy to
Uke home and he sold to Mr. Hamil
ton for a barrel of flour and fifty cents.
