DEATHS' DOINGS.
Died nt his residence in this
tow ii on Friday morning Dccein
' ber 13, 1901, of injuries received
by being thrown from a buggy on
the Sunday night previous, Mr.
JOHN BENJAMIN JHAMILTON-aged
32 years.
The particulars of this sud acoi
dent were given in our last, and
though tho; injuries were serious,
few thought they would prove
fatal. Unfavorable symtbjns devel
oped Thursday night and at 10.30
Friday, morning surrounded by his
family his gentle spirit passed
away.
For the last 10 years he has
been connected with tho business
interests of ?ur. town-first as sales
man, then as merchant, in nil of
which ho was successful and made
many'warm friends. Ho was a man
of sterling qualities, faithful, fear
less;, heiieat and upright and un
flinchingly true to all the principles
of manhood and life os he saw and
understood them. Tho hearts of all
who know, loved and honored him
go out in the tenderest, most loving
sympathy to the bereaved wife, little
daughter and relatives in this sad
bereavement.
Tho fnneral sorviecs were hold
at Oak Ridge cemetery on Satur
day morning at ll o'clock in the
presence of a largo assemblage of
relatives, friends and acquaintances,
and wcro conducted by Rev. C. B.
Smith, pastor of tho Methodist
church, of which ho was a devoted
member, assisted by Rev. H. W.
Burwell of thc Presbyterian church.
