The April term of court closed Fri
day n glit, after a session of three
weeks. The first week was profitable
in the way of heavy fines collected,
hut the two last were rather expen

Jury failed to agreo on a decision.

Sheriff Green went to Laurens
on Tuesday to identify a,, color
ed man thought to b& Jini Harris
tho murderer of Capt Carter, and

Hines. He had no trouble in
identifying Harris but to be sure
about Hines he telegraphed for
Mr. Hinson who promptly said it
was not Hines. Jim is now in
Laurens Jail but will brought to
Marlboro as soon as tho proper
papers are sent the Governor, as
Harris is now under sentence for
housebreaking. Our people aro
indebted to Mr. "Doc" Little of
Laurens for the capturo of Jim,
