ITS LITERARY CHARACTER! Will undergo considerable change, as the publisher of the Lacies' Companion, in order to show his appreciation ofthc public favor already extended to hnn so liberally, has secured the aid of M as. They can be made to contain from SlOlo lbUsawsin a stand, and whether tinall or large, one hand will be sufficient to attend tlicin. The Gins have uieclianical feeders and hoppers attached to tliein, which free the cotton train leaves, trash, dirt, &c. before it can reach the saws, and b> the thorough hackling operation it receives iroui ine iceoers, wuich uia&w iwo revolutions to one of the saws, it is almost in * half gioed state, before it descends to the saw. By a very simple arrangement of a screw to each set ol gaates, on which the hoppers rest, and through which the teeth oi the feeders pass, they can he made to teed slow or last to suit the condition of the cotton at the time. When made double, the saws are placed on two sets ol cylinders and turn upon each other in opposite direct oris, and are cleansed by two sets ot brushes that have four revolutions to one of twe saw. The two cylinders can be detached so as to enable the planter to run one or both ut pleasure, although embraced with ieeders, i&c. id one stand.
