We regret to have to record
i.he death of Mrs. Thomas Shau
non, which occurred on Satur
day, the 28th in*t., after a long
struggle against age and other
ailments. The deceased was a
woman of most lovable character
whoso loss will be deplored by
a large circle of relatives and
friends. The funeral services
were conducted at the Presby
terian church ou Sunday after
noon, and the remains followed
to their last resting place in the
Q laUer cemetary by a tremend
ous concourse of those who
loved and esteemed her in life.

Accident at l'lno I icok Mill.
Mr. Grovet* Terry, an em
ployee of the Pine Creek Mftf.
Co., had tho misfortune to to
caught in a belt of the mill on
Thursday, thrown down and
badly injured in tin; head. At
last accounts, the injured man
was doing' well. He is originally
from Lancaster county, and only
commenced work in the Pine
Creek Mill on the Monday pre
vious to the accident. Hard
luck, from which wo hope no
serious results will follow.
