Leslie Zemp's drug *tore. Commiserate Us. Withiu the last two weeks, we have lost tfro valued subscribers because of our position on the dispensary question, but as we ha\e picked ups?ven to replace them, we don't feel financially or morally hurt. It is the privi lege of every man to abjure any injurious habit, to transfer his family trading in groceries, or in anything else to another per son, tirin or corporation, and to stop his subscription to any newspaper. Our idea however iu connection with the two gen tlemen referred to is, that it would have been bettor for tliern to have continued their subscrip tion, as those who read only oue side of any public question are apt to drift into a narrow groove of thought from which only Gabriel's . trumpet will awaken; Ihein to the realization of their error. He and his good family are welcomed back to the couuty and they have tho best wishes of the en tire town in their efforts to make tho Chcraw hotel one of tho best in the State. ? The State, Kseusc. We will have to ask our friends to excuse us for tho late ap pearance of Tho People last week. ThQ lateness of tlie issue was duo to tho fact that we were expecting, and finally received several important news items that would have been stale news this week. This kind of thing doesn't happen often, but may under similar circumstances oc cur again. At all events, it is better late than never. Was Counsel Front the Soul h. Love, a sister of Mrs. Wiley Sheorn, whose death we recently re ported. The deceased died at the residence of Mrs. A . D. Benton on Saturday night and the remains were in terred in the Quaker Cemetary ou Sunday. Mi: s Love was a wo mau of many admirable trails o f characlor, and her loss is de plored by a large circle of rela tives and friends. Ilcr sister, Mrs. Maggio Henton, of Mon roe, was with her at the end. Death was the result of a com plication of diseases similar to those suffered by Mrs. bheorn. An A tn using Mistake. There was an amusing mis take in Tho People last week winch was caused by the neces sary hurry in making up the forms. Instead of the heading of the dispensary report read ing. "Quarterly licport" wo in advertently used tho old head, ?'Monthly import." As it hap peur.d, jio harm was done, as the body of tho report shows plainly I that i! was a quarterly, and not la monthly report. These things j will happen occasionally in the best newspaper oilices, and while annoying, it .seems that they will eontiuuo to happen to the end of time. Street fmproveincnt.
