That's wisdom. Don't
shop everywhere and then
in desperation come here, be
cause if it's TOYS, Dolls or

can get it here, and you are
not disappointed here, are
you? Well then, why not
come here first when looking

on Tuesday. Always glad to
see you, General.
? Col. A. D. Jones of Liberty

the first part af the week, mak
ing our place headquarters as
usual, much to our pleasure.
? Cspt. J. C. Rollings, now of
the Blaney section also illumined
our, sanctum on Tuesday. His
genial laugh brightened us up
wonderfully, but we hod to de
cline his banter to run him a
hundred yard race.
? Mr. J. B. Montgomery has
commenced the erection of a

sign of progress.
? Our friend, Mr. T. L.Davis,

us on Friday. He is a valued
subscriber, and if he swore at all,
would swear by The People.
?Our apologies are hereby
extended to Judge McCullogh
for mistaking a Mister Pryor of
Washington for him the other
night. Mr. Prior is a very tine
looking man.
? Mr. S. J. Sellers was in the

meet him, and hope that he will
repeat the call.
? We had hoped to announce
this week that our Baptist breth

under ad visement.
? We are always in search of
information, and on Sunday
night secured a mine of it in the
shape of knowledge of the Cath

in which he explained it the
Catholic religeon is not half bad.
We guess however, that we will
be Baptist, Baptist till we die.
? We had the pleasure af meet

This magazine is published at
Atlanta, and is very cleverly
gotten . up. We do uot expect
to meet Miss Stewart agteln, as
in the course of her canvass
in the interest of her paper, she
cannot fail to meet some young
and handsome editor who will
convince ser that a co-partner

her present occupation.

? Please don't fail to mention
The People when trading with
any' of of our advertisers. As
we have previously stated, it
oosts you nothing, be no tits us,
and is of assistance to the mer
chant also.
? Read our advertisements, and
trade with our advertisers if you
love The People. There isn4t a
single advertiser whose name
appears in our columns but will
do even more for you than lie,
she or they promise.
? We are getting out a very
pretty lot of job work in the
way of cards, letter and note
heads, and envelopes, but want
more. Our prices are as cheap
as the cheapest, and if you uru
not satisfied, it does not cost
you a cent.
? "Now, what do you think of
that?" Read our editorial on
"Dispensary rottenness" and an
swer the question. The Dispen
sary is rapidly growing into a
dead duck, and for our part, we
are shaking hands with our
selves every minute over the
fact.
? Who of our contractors is
going to bid ou the new court
house? Camden can furnish
some of the finest, and it is right
that the money should stay with
us. Do not let a little matter of
a few hundred dollars entice you, j
County Commissioners into giv
ing the contract to an outsider.
? Our job work is universally
commended. Give us a trial,
you people who haven't yet done
so, and if you don't come bacit
for more it will be simply be
cause you don't know u good

? The reoent slump in the price

This silly talk t>f a twelve and a

veriest rot. AlPof you who can,

course, if you owe anybody, sell
all of it if necessary in order to
pay up. That's honest.
? Whenever you see anything
in The People that you do uot
like, come and tell us about it.
Don't, don't go behind our back
and talk. 'We can look a man
in the eye as squarely as any
man, and explain as clearly as
any other that if we have said
anything that we are sorry for,
we are glad of it. It brings peo
ple closer together, you know.
