In glancing over our notes,
wo find that we hate mentioned

so.
We are informed that the ros
ter of the guards consists of more
than sixty men* and yet barely
thirty attended the most import
event in the yearly history of

season of the year when there is
practically nothing to do in field,
storo or work room, arid when it
would seem that a week's outing

We, personally, do not feel
sufliciently interested in the mat
ter to malce much of a "knock,"
but we will say that if the fault
of the recent small turn out of
the Guards at the annual en
campment, lies with the absen
tee members, we hope that dur
ing the doming yefcr? they will
develop a deeper feeling of pa
triotism, and cultivate that
shoulder to shoulddf sense of
upholding the hands of their of
ficers. Without these two quali
ties, you cannot have a good
company, for your officers will
grow tired of trying to make you
what you should be, the banner
company of the Statt.

A huge rattle snake was killed
near this place on the 12th, inst
It is said to have been one of the
largest ever killed in this section
and had twelve rattles and a
button.
Mr. Stafford Brown and Miss
Daisy Beasley, both of the Luck
no# section, were united in the
holy bonds of matrimony on the
16th, itast. Therefore. let the

been longing to see.
Mr. R. N. Hall, of Lubknow,

They are having a very sociable
time. Another meeting will be
gin at Beaverdam church on the
5th, Sunday. We suppose that
it will be conducted by the Rev.
Walters. Much good is expect
