BATGSBU I(U'S OPPORTUNITY.
The discussion of the good roads
question reminds lis of one feature of
the question that is purely local in its
significance.
liatesbitrg's citizens will not admit
of the suggestion that their town has
reached its zenith, and we feel that
they are j is?i"ed in spurning such a
suggestion. We have u good town and
one that is destined to grow, provided
the proper conditions for growth are I
furnished by her citizens. The town '
will never he built by the feeling of
self-siitlieiency that exists among so
many said to be public spirited citizens.
It cannot take care of itsell; it must
have the support of active brains and
unselfish hearts in this critical period
of its existence. Sitting around and
giving vent to aphorisms of wisdom
will not build or develop the town. ,
Fot people must love her and be will*
ing to i-pend and be spent for her sake. (
The spirit of every man for himself ,
that exists in the town will result in ,
the Devil's getting u- al! and the town (
along with us. We must get together (
and go to wot k, there is enough to be |
done to begin at otice. i
Now the question that we started (
out to discuss was Hatesburg's relation
to the road question. Is there really j
something that the town can do. with- (
out waiting for county action? We ,
answer unhesitatingly that there is: .
She can go to wor4t, and by public |
s? b-icriptions of two or three thousand |
dollars she can build such roads radial- >
ing in ttie two or three principal direc- ,
t ions from Hie town, for a distance of .
Hve or six miles, that will he a draw- ;
ing card for the town?a card that ?
will draw customers.
To the north, northeast and north- ,
west of Hatesourg is a territory of line |
possibilities. The agricultural resources
wid rack with the tin est, the people
are energetic and thrifty and they
are nut nrally w ell disposed to the town. ]
The trade of this rection forms to a I
large exteit the very life blood of
itatesburg; from it Hows the commerce
that makes the town possible*
The question of the hour tor us to
solve is : "Shall we take advantage ot '
what is nrrs naturally, or shall we sit
supinely hy and let another ocine in 1
and reap what is our:-?
Snail we continue to he satistled at '
receiving all from this section and <

their work.
Pains, achesandrheu- j

Kidney trouble causes quick or unsteady
heart beats, and makes one feel as though
they had heart trouble, because the heart 'i

It used to be considered that only urinary

but now modern science proves that nenriv I
all constitutional diseases have their begin- i
