FATAL NEGRO SHOOTING
IN LEXINGTON COUNTY
Jap Bicklev, a negro, wt. shot and ;
probably mortally wounded late Sun-i
day afternoon by Earlie Hill, also a|
negro. The shooting occurred at the'
colored Baptist church in the upper!
edge of town, where the several col- j
ored order of Odd Fellows had turned
out in large numbers, and hundreds
of negroes witnessed the shooting.
Hill left immediately, but was soon,
overtaken by Sheriff Miller, appre- [
bended and lodged in jail. j
Bickley was rushed to the Good i
Samaritan hospital in Columbia by Dr!
J. H. Mathias, who attended the man
