DEBATE AT SWANSEA : HIGH SCHOOL The two debating teams, which have represented the Swansea High School with such marked credit in. the South Carolina Triangle Debating League, tonight'" debated against each other in the High School Auditorium here. The query, submitted for discussion by the University of South Carolina, under whose auspices the state debate was held, proposing the restriction of immigration to the "United States bv a literarv test, was discussed in a comprehensive and logical manner by the young representatives. The affirmative team was awarded the position and debated in fee final abate eontest, losing by a narrow margin to the Union High School team. The wiwifng negative team tonight at Swansea over Swansea & team which was second in the State contest gives both Swansea teams a high rank. The points developed by both teams, and the rebut tals, showed a thorough study of the query, and the young debaters of *Swa rsea are to be congratulated upon the high position which they have given their school and the County of Lexington in this League.
