THE FAMILY MAGAZINE.

Cincinnati, a work with tho above title, of
which tho present is a specimen number. It will
bo what its name indicates?4 The Family Magazine*?and
will contain knowledge of tho most
valuable and practical kind, adapted in language
and 6tyle to the youthful mind, as well as to the
adult.
Tho following subjects will constitute an important

of Nature and Art;?the different Professions and
Occupations of lifeHistory of the Useful Arts,
Inventions, and Discoveries ;? ?the " Natural
Sciences, including natural Philosophy, Chemistry,
Dot ny, and Geology;?plain Illustrations
of Goom-iry,* Trigonouiotry, Astronomy, and
the Practical Rules of Arithmetic;?American
Antiquities;?the Improvements of the age;?
Jliograpliv and Miscellaneous pieces in Prose and
Poetry.
All subjects, susceptible of it, will bs illustrated
with elegant Engravings, which will add
greatly to the value of tho work, as well as highly
ornamental to it.
It is believed tho present work will be the
choancst and most valuable one, for practical use,
th-it has ever been offered to the American people.

The Family Magazine will be published 011 the
first day of every month.
Each number will contain forty super royal
octavo pages, and from six to fifteen Engravings.
It will be printed on fine paper and put up in

no Dollar and Ffty Cents, in advance. Post
Masters in all the Western States, are authorized.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an act of
the Legislature, incorporating The Dmk of
Camden, S. 6'., books for receiving subscriptions
for the capital slock of said bank (two hundred
jjousand dollars in four thousand shares of .$.>0

Town of Cheraw, on the lirst J/ouduy in May
