The demand for cotton since our lust res
pects <>t the 9th inst. has been mt>dcratc,
and the sale* amount to 3420 bait* of all
sort*, including 2605 bale* U. S. descrip
tion*. % The heavy import during the last
lew days comprising 9187 bale* U.S. and
1675 other sort*, and the advicc of numer
ous cargoes shipping to our port from the
U. S. and Hraatls have checked the inqui
ry! prices, however, are steady, and we an
ticipate no decline, unless something more
unfavorable than existing circumstance*
should occur. We estimate our stock at
about 27,800 bales, including "20,500 bales ->f
U. S aorts.
Ashes have declined, in consequence of
advice* from the United Stotes, and Pots
have sold at 45f. other parcels are ofli red
