The meeting being organised and Profes
sor Henry J. Nott appointed secretary
Dr. Thomas Cooper rose, and proposed
tbat the resolutions published in die Tv.i.f.%
copk of iust Friday, should be adopteil as
the resolutions of the |>rescnt nicutlng.
This motion was seconded in a speech by
D. J. M'Cord, Esq. who was followed on the
?amu side by Col. Preston, Professor Henry
J. Nott and Professor Robert Henry.
Col. Dianding observed, that as he Intend
cd to move that Dr. Cooper shouUl be ro
Qucsted to furnish a copy of his speech for
publication, the statement relating .to the
British manufacturers of woollens, and the
laws of that country parsed delating to them,
should be struck out of the revolutions, as
they might properly form n part of Dr.
Cooper's published remarks. Having made
that motion it was accecded to by the meet
ing with the consent of Dr. Cooper.

remarked thut as a mere statement ot
abstract principles would be of itself an
impcrfcct measure, it would be necessary to
follow it by a proposal of some practical
course of conduct founded upon our ex
position of the principles which wc meant to
submit to the public in justification of our
